These scarf slides carry more than silverwork — they carry part of a family love story.

They began as a pair of silver earrings given to my mother by my stepfather during their years together, part of the romance and history they shared. The earrings were acquired in Sedona roughly 30 years ago and eventually found their way back to my workbench.

Rather than leave them tucked away, I reworked them into functional scarf slides for Bootleg Silver Co., preserving the original floral silverwork while giving them an entirely new chapter.

The transformation was intentionally kept simple so the character of the original metalwork remains the focus. The fronts retain their dimensional floral pattern, while the backs were converted into scarf-slide hardware for modern wear.

These pieces are a reminder that heirlooms do not have to remain unchanged to keep their meaning. Sometimes the best way to preserve a story is to let it keep living.
